This essay captured my journey! Thank you! I started interning in family law with plans to attend law school as a trauma response to my parents 10 year divorce litigation. I also come from a small rural town that never bounced back after the death of manufacturing.
But after graduating undergrad something didn't feel right to me anymore. I gave up on my childhood dream of being a writer because I didn't see a way to be financially stable, but the expansion of the creator economy gives me hope it's possible and that's all I needed!
I'm starting out as a writer with no clue where I'm going, and nothing has felt more right!
