I graduated in December 2020, and it’s so nice to see someone addressing the systemic issues that influenced my experience.

The most confusing part for me was that I did what everyone wanted. I went to undergrad, developed skills, and did an unpaid internship.

But when I started job hunting, I was overqualified for entry-level jobs and underqualified for roles further up the latter. No employer wanted to invest the money to train me, and I didn't want to spend the money to train myself in graduate school because the income to debt ratio didn't make sense.

I ended up taking a job I was overqualified for to make ends meet while launching my own creative projects. I feel like this is the best move for me, but I would love it if someone would have been willing to take a chance on me.
