As someone relatively new to the workplace, this article is incredibly frustrating. Did anyone talk to Helen and ask her to write things down? Did anyone discuss what her responsibilities were and help her manage them? Helen was transparent that she knew that she had a lot to learn. The management in this article was also transparent that they had no intention to help her get there.

I understand the importance of experience but I would argue that a strong mentorship structure is equally important. The entire premise of the article comes to the wrong conclusion. This company either needs to increase their recruitment efforts to attract the experience they need or be willing to mentor their younger staff members.
